Huddersfield Town are on the verge of signing Southend defender Peter Clarke on a free transfer. The defender will sign a three-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium subject to passing a medical. “Peter is a real coup for the club. Although he had other options available to him, including clubs from higher divisions, we are delighted he has chosen to move to us,” said Town boss Lee Clark. (Full Story)
Administrators Agree Terms With Melrose Consortium

Leonard Curtis, the administrators currently running Stockport County have this afternoon confirmed that they have agreed terms with the Melrose Consortium for the sale of the club.
As reported earlier today on County Blog, the Melrose Consortium, headed by former Manchester City striker Jim Melrose were thought to have agreed a deal to buy the Hatters and this has now been confirmed.

Takeover Deal Completed?

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that a consortium led by former Manchester City forward Jim Melrose has signed a deal to buy the club.
Another consortium, thought to have contained the Gibbons family was forced to pull out at the last minute yesterday, leaving the rival group to sign the deal.

Rose Nears Hartlepool Move

Stockport County defender Michael Rose is on the verge of completing a move to Hartlepool United according to Vital Hartlepool.
Rose has been linked with a number of clubs in the past few weeks including Hartlepool, Swindon and Hereford, but he looks set to be reunited with former Hatters manager Chris Turner at Victoria Park.
Raynes Frustrated By Lack Of News

Stockport County captain Michael Raynes has admitted that he and the rest of the players at the club are in the dark about their futures and have no idea when they are due back for pre-season training.
With less than two months until the start of the 2009/10 season, there is still no news on a potential takeover at Edgeley Park, and after seeing several Hatters stars including Tommy Rowe and Leon McSweeney leave the club following it’s slide into administration, Raynes says he to is unsure of his immediate future.
