County make Hattersley enquiry
Lancaster City boss Tony Hesketh says Stockport County have made a ‘tentative enquiry’ for their leading goalscorer Danny Hattersley.
Hattersley, who has netted 21 times for the Dolly Blues so far this season will link up with County next week and train with Jim Gannon’s side.
Gannon has been on the lookout for a new striker throughout the January transfer window, but Hesketh added it was unlikely the 19-year-old will join the Hatters during this window.
“We have close links with County and they know all about Danny, now that Jim Gannon has returned to the club they have picked up their interest again,” he told the Lancaster Guardian.
“I don’t envisage him leaving us this season, they have only made a tentative enquiry and it may be that he joins up with them next season.”
Hattersley has already been the subject of a bid this month from big spending AFC Fylde, managed by former County defender Dave Challinor, but the striker decided against a move to the Evo-Stik First Division North side.
