Kennedy to assist with Hatters finances

The Hatters have revealed that Cheshire Sports and Brian Kennedy are to assist them in stabilising the finances at the club.

In a statement released on the official website on Thursday, chairman Lord Snape said Cheshire Sports have suspended rent payments due for the use of Edgeley Park to the sum of £75,000 for the time being.

The club say the gesture will ‘help alleviate the cash constraints being felt by the club and allows more time in which long term plans of the club can be developed.’

Bounab departs on loan

Stockport County defender Nabil Brahim-Bounab has joined Northern Premier League side Buxton Town on loan for a month.

The Frenchman has made ten appearances for the Hatters this season since being signed by Dietmar Hamann last summer after a spell on trial.

The 23-year-old has rarely featured under Jim Gannon however, and will now spend the next month with the Bucks, who are managed by former County defender Martin McIntosh.

Fans Forum tonight

Fans Forum tonight

If you haven’t already seen, the first of the two fans forums Your Town Your Team has organised is taking place tonight.

Tonight’s event takes place at The Blossoms in Stockport on the A6 and Director of Football Jim Gannon will be in attendance to answer questions along with director John Fitzpatrick.

The forum starts at 7.30pm and entrance is free.

Gannon: Home form is key to survival

Jim Gannon says making Edgeley Park a fortress is key to the Hatters survival in the Blue Square Bet Premier this season.

County have gone six matches unbeaten at home, but conceded an 87th minute equaliser against Newport County at the weekend.

Gannon says his side need to start winning games rather than drawing at home because of their poor away record.

Newport boss delighted with team spirit

Newport County boss Justin Edinburgh was full of praise for his side after they rescued a late point against Stockport County on Saturday.

The away side were on the back-foot for the majority of the game, and twice fell behind through two Danny L Rowe goals inbetween Andy Sandell’s red card, before Jake Harris capitalised on a defensive error to score an unlikely equaliser in the 87th minute.

Former Spurs defender Edinburgh praised the togetherness of his players and says it will take them a long way.
